Considering starting up a part time car washing business
Comments
-
15 years ago, where I used to work, there was a man who visited the works' car park every 2 weeks and washed cars in the car park. Money and a list of car registrations etc was left with the receptionist.
He had a Ford Transit van and in the back he had a compressor to run his high pressure wand.
There were two of them operating it. I think two people working together can get through the cars better, one can be wiping and one spraying, for example.0 -
Nearly every town and city has the £5 car washes that usually have immigrant workers who work very hard which i give them credit for. They are usually employed as the company gets allowances from the Govt to take them on.You would find it hard to compete against them. All the equipment is not cheap and you will need public liability insurance. The tax office usually keep a close eye on these businesses as they have been very popular for money laundering in the past few years as obviously it is a cash only business.0

There's a hand car wash down the road from me run by a bunch of immigrants (no idea what natioanlity they are) and they charge £3.50 for the outside of a small car (Clio/Fiesta etc) and £5 for a large (4x4/Saloon..). There are usually 2-3 of them washing and scrubbing the car and then 2 of them powerwash it. Takes less than 5 mins. Hard to beat em!0
