EGG: is this a default

I received this from Egg today.

Despite the fact they have headed the letter "Default Notice" I don't believe it is. The letter is below:

What do you think?

I have sent a CCA request and the 12+2 date has not expired. I have also send a formal letter of compliant and gave them five days to repond or I will contact the financial ombudsman. Their time was was up on Monday and they still haven't acknowledged. Who do I write to now (re the failure to acknowledge my complaint)?

It is a DN but does not comply with legislation ;)

    What's your complaint about?

    What's not there 10past6?

Just curious as i don't really know about the content of DN's - i would have thought it was all correct if i had received it (before i checked on here of course).

    BEFORE THE DATE SHOWN

No date stated to fix the remedy ;)

Compliance on a creditor issuing a DN is very clear.

Because it's defective means nothing really as they can re issue a correct DN, the only time a DN is beneficial to the debtor is when the account is terminated.

  • 10past6 - they did give a date - I blacked it out in case it could identify me (slightly paranoid. My complaint was because of constant harrasment by telephone and their complete refusal to acknowledge my many written communications with them and their repeated assertions in writing that I had not contacted them at all!

Thanks for your help - given the date is there - does it comply?

Can you PM me the date the letter was generated, and the date it states to fix the remedy
