Hi, This is my first post on moneysaving old style so please be gentle with me.
I really want to try white vinegar for some cleaning as seen in some of the other posts and noticed that some people buy this from 'ethnic supermarkets'.
I was wondering where you buy yours from and how much you pay.
I'm going to visit a chinese supermarket on Friday as I have to go near there anyway but i don't want to pay over the odds for it and as i've never bought it I don't know how much to expect to pay.
Any replys would be gratefully recieved.

I got mine in a Chinese supermarket, £2.20 for 5 litres, which works out at 44p a litre, not bad at all
they were also selling a gallon of 19:1 Acetic Acid (non-brewed condiment) concentrate for £7.70, which works out at 38.5p a gallon, between 7.5 & 8.5p a litre after dilution0 -

I think my Chinese Supermarket is about £2 for 5 ltrs, or £8 if you buy 6 bottles, I've never felt the need for 30 litres of vinegar though :eek:0

Its shames me to make this confession, but here goes... After all this time using these boards I still am not sure why white vinegar is better than malt?0

If you don't have or can't get to an asian supermarket Morrisons are doing 2 x 568ml bottles for 80p"all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time..."0

Sainsbury's are doing spirit vinegar with brown colouring (Lord knows why they have to colour it brown) for 17p for 568ml in the value range. Would be fine for most things except perhaps using in the whites wash. Otherwise chinese supermarkets seem to have 1l bottles for about 60p. I don't have a car so a gallon of vinegar might be a bit tricky to get home on my bicycle!'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0
