Incorrect Default

I dont know if this is the right place to ask this but I have a problem with my credit file.
Just under 2 years ago, i settled all my debts even ones which had defaulted so i could get a mortgage.
I had a credit card with capital 1 which was on a payment plan of £15.00 and still to date i have NEVER missed a payment.
However i am trying now to obtain a bank loan which has currently been agreed in principle.
I have now come home from work today and got a letter from cap1 sayingthat they issued me a default notice a while ago with some information missing and they are going to reissue this.
I meet all my monthly payments as agreed on my payment plan so why are they issuing defaults to me !!
Hope you can help :j

You say payment plan. Does that mean an agreement you reached with them because you couldn't afford the minimum payment? If so that may be why they issued the default even though you have been making payments. They should have served a notice of default though and I'm sure someone more knowledgable than me will be along soon to advise.

If this is not the case then you need to call them & ask them to explain.

If you're not meeting the agreed minimum payments are per the T&Cs, they will issue a DN.

  • Yes, we agreed a payment as at the time i struggled to make the payments.
however when a default notice came through i called regarding this and was told by an advisor in "india" that this was incorrect and not to worry.
However this new letter has arrived and i am deeply concerend now.

Also any ideas about the success chances of my loan agreed in principle withthe bank ?? xx
