Hi I am hoping somebody can show me a light at the end of the tunnel.
I am in debt and struggling to make ends meet. I know I have to take control and am quite prepared to do that however I have attempted to contact my local CAB and can't even get a response. I have contacted cccs and a debt company but they tell me I haven't got enough debt! I have developed a nervous twitch and I am making myself ill with the worry of it all but I seriously dont know what to do next. Can anybody help?

hi chunkylegs,
Look on www.makesenseofcards.co.uk and do an SOA (Statement of Affairs - scroll down the page)and post it up. You'll get all sorts of help and the situation won't look half as dire.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Great if you feel up to posting an SOA because it lets people give the most appropriate help. If not we will need to know a bit more about your circumstances though. Like what sort of debt do you have and what income etc.BSC No 248

Hiya :hello:
Welcome to the boards! Well done for getting the courage together to post on here - it's full of great people who will be able to give you some good advice.
As whitewing says, it's best to get your SOA posted up here so people can suggest areas you might be able to start saving money and maybe redirect some straight away. Plus it'll probably help you once you see it all in black and white!
If you're starting to notice an effect on your health then I would also try and speak to your GP. You can't ignore the emotional effect financial difficulties can have and you need to look after yourself.
I'll subscribe to this thread so keep posting and let us know how you're doing.

Hi and welcome - you've taken the first step!!
I was stuck on job seekers for 6 months and couldn't even pay a penny on my debts for a while - I couldn't get an IVA or anything as told too little debt.
Thankfully my creditors were co-operative and held all charges etc.. until I got a job.
Started with tesco last week and doing all the overtime possible to start paying them again.
It can be done.
In two years I have got rid of over £2000 of my debt!!Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!0 -
Hi
you have come to the right place-i can speak from experience of how people on this board have helped I was suicidal, similar circumstances enough debt to seriously panic but not enough to go for an IVa and i had a lot of health problems as i had severe depression-your debt may make you ill-dont let it., . Keep trying to get a CAB appointment they are really helpful just snowed under with debt work at the moment.
And in the meantime , try to post a statement of account on here-list all your debts, all your outgoings and incomings-theres lots of help on the post on here on how to do that.
I am finally just staring to make some positive change in my debt situation, have just increased the payment , , starting to see the amounts i owe drop off -boy, does it feel good!-and it is almost entirely due to the help of the lovely people who post on here. And my creditors have stopped hassling me, apart from the odd review letter-,
And its all thanks to my fellow mse'rs:grouphug: -thnk mse should stand for Miracles Start 'Ere! So post your troubles on here because people will help, with good advice.0 -

Hi Chunkylegs - sounds like we'd make a fine pair!
I work for the CAB. We know it's difficult to get through to us.
The standard advice is to keep trying. But...
If you drop a letter in to your local CAB with your phone number they WILL get back to you. We don't bin client letters.0 -

Don't panic my friend but please look at http://www.payplan.com/ . You will soon start to gain control again, I did ! Please don't use a fee paying service, there really is no need. Good luck and welcome.0
