age 16

hello

can somebody please tell me what the procedure is for the assesment changes when the child turns 16.

i think that it is very likely that my son will be stopping on at school but we are still in the process of trying to sort out an assesment on the old system.

when he turns 16 will they need all the info again to do a new assesment or will they just reduce the amount automatically (ie take out the careers allowance)

thanks

In my case, they did stop the carers allowance without me having to notify them, but many on these forums have stated the payments were not stopped.
A complete reassessment may be best, then that way, you know that the allowance should then stop & it will be based on your up to date income/ outgoings (if on CS1)
If you go for reassessment, I would still remind them in writing, to remove the carers allowance as the CSA are not known for their efficiency!
