Wedding Reception 'Fixed 2010 increse' of 6%??

Hi everyone
I'm getting married in June next year. I've found a local, suitable and affordable place to hold my reception.
When they sent me the quote they factored in a '2010 fixed increase' of 6%.
This equates to around £350 extra, I can afford it but just wondered what people's thoughts were on this.
Should venues be charging this when we are on the edge of deflation or is it unrelated?
The 6% is on everything from venue hire, food & drink to linen hire.
Thanks, Jen

The place I'm getting married at has two tariffs advertised, one for 2009, and another, higher one for 2010. Most places will increase their prices year on year I think. Seems like they're drawing attention to it by showing how it will go up compared to this years prices. Seems okay though.0

It seems ok to me too - they have to factor in a price increase because food costs will no doubt rise again before 2010 and they need to make allowances for that as well as the increased cost of staff etc etc.0

Yep sounds ok to me, at least you've been told before you pay some places don't bother, its normally in the small print that prices are entitled to change.
Some of the places i've viewed have the 2011 prices already and room hire has gone from say £500 this year to £800 2011.0 -
Thanks guys that has reassured me, at least I wont feel like I'm being ripped off!Spread the word: Over pay on your Mortgage!!:j0

My place had different prices for next year as well - made me glad we booked for this year!
Don't know what the percentage increase was exactly though - I never worked it out.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Well to add to what i said earlier, we went to view another venue today (its the one!!) and they haven't had any price increases since 2007 and this covers 2010, he said however if there was a price increase (for 2011) it would be about 5% which is about right. He said because it was a family run business they still needed weddings, functions etc. so they don't really put there prices up especially in this financial climate.0
