Hi longtime lurker here
Don't know if this has been posted before (I have searched, honest, but can't find anything) but does anyone have a recipe for home made hair conditioning spray (you know the kind you use before using straighteners).
The miser in me resents paying £4+ for the ready made sprays. I used to use tresemme but this is just getting to dear for my pocket. I had thought about diluting a small amount of ordinary hair conditioner in water in a spray bottle and using that - anyone tried this??? Or anyone know of any good deals on readymade sprays?
Thanks in advance

I was in Poundland the other day and they are selling Tresemme hair straightening spray. I bought one , but havent tried it yet. Might be worth going there and stocking up.0

good question! i think the problem with diluting a product is that you may not get the protection needed, and end up with a build-up of the wrong types of product (ie, with a regular conditioner there is no heat protection usually).
my suggestion would be to use a combination of oils. the heat protection products create a barrier between the hair and the heat, so you need to mimic that and you could include some products that will help make it smell pleasant and add shine to your hair (eg rosemary).
also, i would highly recommend using a deep conditioner to make sure any damage is repaired (perhaps shea butter as a mask which is a very affordable product).Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Hi. Thanks for the replies. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back - I've had some serious electrical work done in the house so everything's been out of action for a few days.
Red - After having a look at the list on the back of the spray bottle, the ingredients are not too different from those in a heat protection serum, some of the missing ingredients are listed on the back of my conditioner bottle. The major ingredient in the spray is water! Think I need to do some experiments.
