Best Place to buy a washing Machine for their guarantee?

I am in the process of looking for a washing machine and was recommended by a friend that John Lewis was the best place to go because of their free two year guarantee. However im not too keen on the washing machines there and wondered if anyone knew of other places that offer similar free two year guarantees of good quality? or even other places to buy good quality washing machines?

Pity you're not keen on John Lewis' range of appliances as it's where I got my machine because of the free 2yr guarantee.

I know when I was researching where the best place to buy was there was only Empiredirect which offered extended guarantee for a membership fee of £30.

However, Empiredirect went into administration earlier this year, so extended guarantee's on appliances from them are now worthless. Because of the high chance of price competitive retailers going out of business I think it's best to stick to a company you have confidence in being able to sit out the recession.
