AQA query

AQA opened UK applications the other day. I managed to fire off an email just in time since a few minutes later it was gone when I refreshed. I received the application form and it says that two references are required. This is somewhat difficult as I've been out of school for eight years and all the teachers that I was taught by have since left, and the places I've worked at are no longer in business.
For anybody who applied in the past, have they ever checked up on references that you know of?

No, I don't think the reference gets checked often.
It's more important that you give good answers in the test.
Hope this helps0 -
If it helps, my references were not checked when I applied last year.Mortgage Free as of 03/07/2017 :beer:0

Thanks for the reassurance. I've completed the test (all answers above 120 chars, checked over several times for errors) and most of the application, just the "examples of work you're proud of" question has me stuck. That kind of question always does.0
