Question on Wimbledon tickets

Hi all,

I wondred if anyone knew how personalised the Wimbledon tennis tickets are? (i.e. do they show a name?)

I ask because my parents have been successful in the ballot, however unfortunately are now unable to go. I wish to attend with a friend (male), however if the tickets have my mothers name on them I can see myself having issues (unless I dress up like a woman :o)

I know they are very strict like asking for proof of address but i am not sure if they are printed with names. They scan barcodes randomly that tell them the persons address then they ask for I.D.

I managed to get tickets in the ballot last year and if I remember correctly they were named. I am sure that handing over tickets to a family member is acceptable- maybe a quick call to the AELTC to explain the situation would put your mind at rest. I do know many people who use several family/friend addresses to increase their chances of being lucky in the ballot so there must be ways round this.

If I remember correctly there are no names printed on the tickets. I bought some off a friend a couple of years ago and had no problem in using them.
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints - the sinners are much more fun ;)

  • It would be a good idea simply to contact the issuers and ask, if you get a positive answer make sure you get it in writing.

On the other hand, the tickets probably have not even been printed yet, could your parents contact them and say she would like to give them to you as a gift and could they change the details on them?
