RP is right in that it isn't new.
It is possible though that when you put all this tracking information into a super big database, and start cross-referencing this with other equally large state-wide databases, then you take the potential data mining to a whole new level no?0 -
and this is related to " House Prices, the Economy & Recession" in what way?
I think people who use this board like to post certain threads that may have nothing to do with the Board Title simply because they like to discuss a variety of subjects with the people who frequent it. Some because they always take the opposite view, others because of their knowledge, others for their humorous answers etc.
This would probably be at home on the Discussion Board - but then you would not get this group of people0 -

Further to that, pretty much everything is relevant to the economy. I'm trying to think of what isn't. I'm trying to think of random examples...but keep finding a reason the are relvent to the economy.
Thus things that appear general on a general board...the same stories, we can consider them with an economy/recession perspective.
Or make wise cracks. 0 -

1. EU directive forces member states to keep track of the internet. Facebook included or not this is not something that Labour are doing and teh Tories won't do
2. We've been monitoring phone calls for decades as part of ECHELON with email and the tinternet following as they were invented. In what way is any of this surveillance stuff new news? Make a phone call to anyone, say a few key words, and add "hello to the boys at Menwith Hill" on the end - they will hear it.
Trust Rochdale to be the only one to talk in defence of the Labour government.
Do you have an article proving that the EU forces both of the above?0 -

1. I'm not defending it - I'm pointing out that if the EU are mandating it then blaming Labour for implementing European law is a bit mindless
2. The article referencing the EU directive is the one at the top of the page - which you obviously haven't read.
3. The Wiki article about Echelon is here and there are plenty of other references you can Google. Or drive along the A59 west of Harrogate and have a look at RAF Menwith Hill for yourself. A tip - those giant golf balls and aerials have been there long before New Labour existed.0 -

A European Union statutory order, called the Data Retention Directive, already proposes that internet service providers in member states store communications and traffic data for one year.
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
