will i get a mortgage?

hi,

i am thinking of buying a home that is on the new build homebuy scheme. basically, i buy 35%, and rent the "rest" back (based on a % of what i don't own), and can "top up" to a higher % as i can afford to.

i need a mortgage of about 15-20k. Trouble is - im 19, self employed (and this april will be only my second year), and have quite a few missed credit card payments (because i forget to pay them, i have the money in the bank).

do you recon it'll be easy to get a mortgage?

i'd say the first thing to do is get a hold of your credit files from the 3 agencies to see if the missed payments show, if they do they wont do you any favours

a lot of mortgage companies stipulate a min mortgage can be anything from 25k so i'd go to a whole of martket mortgage broker especially as the type of mortgage you are after a lot of lenders dont do

personally i;d say stay where you are and keep saving, have a search on these forums for these schemes as a lot of people dont think they are worthwile and have had issues

Set up a direct debit to pay at least the minimum payment, that way you will improve your credit rating.
