Hi all
Ok I'm a FTB and need some advice. I have a 15% deposit and looking at getting a morgage. I just need to know what is the criteria for getting a morgage? Do you have to have a credit card in order to get a morgage? Also my partner only has a building society is that going to be a problem? He has a Nationwide cash card but it don't have a overdraft. He doesn't have a debit card at all. Both of us have never had any debts or late payments.
Anyones help would be much appreciated.

No - you do not need a credit card
Building society account - not a problem
No overdraft - not a problem
No debts or late payments - good
What some lenders might say is that you do not have enough credit history on which tehy can base a decision. However a decent broker would know which lenders to approach if that was the case.
Have you got up to date copies of your credit files from eitehr Equifax or Experian?
