pub between manchester & liverpool
Options
Hi would anybody be able to recommend a decent cheap-ish pub for food (dont mind two for one/brewers fayre) thats on/just off the east lancs between manchester and liverpool (so roughly haydock/st helens area)...?
Ive tried searching the web, to no avail, like needle in haystack as addresses not necessarily on east lancs but just off, on retail parks etc....
Just want to arrange to meet a friend mid way and need to pick out a pub.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help....

There are quite a few along the East Lancs but the best of the bunch is this one:

Come off the Lancs at the Little Chef, Haydock and at the mini island turn right.0 -
There is also the Waterside pub just off the east lancs thats 2 for £10 I live round the corner from it.
Lymewood is really good but can be expensive.
There is one a bit further up the east lancs just before Knowsley Safari Park but cannot remember the name of it.

There is a Toby Carvery at Lowton, actually on the East Lancs. The link says Newton Road but it at the junction that crosses the A580. Always a good value meal to be had there

It was recommended to us, not far from the East Lancs, only 5 or 10 minutes

I think it was the wheatsheaf not been for a while.
I think its £5 up until 5 and after I think its £7.500
