I have noticed some errors on my recently obtained credit report, according to the Experian 'Self-Help' web site I should contact the bank in questions to correct any mistakes. According to the banks website i should contact Experian.
Who is the dirty cheating liar today then?
A) Experian

Also, I have noticed on my credit file that there is an entry under the "CIFAS" section with someone else's name on for a slightly different address.
Will this have a negative impact on my credit rating?
Can i have it removed if it relates to a different address (note that i live at Flat x, 55 Something Road, where as the CIFAS entry is just for 55 Something Road).
Thanks again all.

Finally, i have 28!!! linked addresses (even though i have only moved 3 times in the last 10 years). Am i able to have old university addresses removed (9 years old) as i did default on some credit card payments while there. The same university address appears 8 times and is no longer in any way relevent.0

Hi. I have a credit score of 697 anyone know if this is pretty normal or bad?0
-
A credit score is such a subjective thing. Experian may score you as an almost perfect 970 out of 1000, but that has no bearing on how a particular lender will score you, as that is all dependant on how their internal scoring system is set up to accept or decline applicants based on their current business targets to generate the most profit and how much risk they are willing to take to generate that extra income from their borrowers paying back their loans.
If you don't meet a lenders requirements, they will not lend to you. It really can be that simple.
However, a high score in general is not a bad thing as it probably means you do not miss any payments, and ultimately that is "A Good Thing" (TM) when it comes to borrowing money."Click the pennies. Collect the pounds."0 -
bump:
1. Do i contact banks or Experian to amend my credit file?
2. CIFAS report on credit file - is this serious?0 -
I have always contacted Experian directly to corrrect errors and they are resolved quite quickly. I have 30 linked addresses but have only lived at 3, they are the 3 addresses in different formats and logged by different companies.0
