Starting up a new business

OH and I are looking into opening a take away and would really appreciate any advice/tips you have on starting a business.

We have found a premises that is unused and is council owned but is currently leased and the tenant has said he is willing to sell the lease. is he allowed to sell it? how do we know if he is valuing it correctly?

any advice is very much appreciated and i am also looking for a mentor on this subject if anyone with experience is willing spare some time via e-mail?
