No doubt Brown will simply take this on board, and then say the rest of Europe and America won't all join together to sort out OUR mess in the UK, therefore it's all their fault were having to stop pulling out all the stops.
Yvette Cooper was on earlier, no doubt she will be on newsnight tonight, blaming europe for our CPI rate, then quickly diverting to the "but the measure people are interested in, RPI, shows were doing the right thing and making it cheaper for people to live through these times".
Tell you, they can twist anything! CPI was the best thing since sliced bread to hide the costs of actual living. Now, RPI is the best thing since sliced bread and the one we should take notice of!0 -

I saw her, she looked like a rabbit in the headlights, also I swear she was reading off an auto-cue, she looked like she didn't have a clue what she was talking about, which of course is almost certainly true.0 -

I only heard her. Seeing her makes me urge
Like it when she gets questioned though, especially by Paxman, she gets soooo angry, more so when someone else has their say!
On a sidenote, the ONS, or some body, it was mentioned, said the VAT rate cut has now been taken back by most retailers, in a bid to secure profits. Whether this is true or not, I don't know.
They stated they had kept an eye on key prices, and the prices had raised normally by 2-3% to offset the VAT reduction since about February.0 -
I expect if Mr King has that opinion he will suprisingly step down due to personal reasons & be replaced by a Labour muppet within 6 mths. Not Again0

It is scary to think that, but I think you may be right.
Whats worse to Brown. Trying and failing, and then watching another leader get the praise for fixing the economy (it will fix itself anyway).
Or, trying and failing, but making it so bad, that the next PM gets a load of flack for the even worse situation?
As we know, Brown is all about himself and always has been, look at him and Tony up against each other as Brown always wanted to be PM. Look at the sacking of the whips and the warning of sacking anyone else who spoke out against him. Look at the general election that never was.
He will do pretty much anything to aliviate himself of blame and is the biggest liability the UK has at the moment. If aliviating himself of blame means creating a total disaster which means no one has a chance, and they all look as bad, I believe he will take anyone down with him.0 -
Gordo's credibility is completely shot, but he's bound to continue trying to use yet more of our money to try and salvage it.0

The guy has got 15 months left, at the most, then it's off to the American lecture circuit, for a few $50,000 a pop speeches. Although he will have to hope that the yanks have forgotten his perpetual rhetoric that 'it started in America'. In fact come to think of it, I haven't heard him say that for a while, he's changed to 'global' now. Funny that, hey.:rolleyes:0 -
Merve's not a politician though. He should have let someone else say it, like the IMF, CBI, Europe, foreign investors, etc. Now Brown has someone else to blame - "I wanted to save the world, but Merve wouldn't give me my pocket money". They will working on the spin this evening and have it ready for general news release very soon.
When are you going to the polls Mr. Brown?0 -
