Renewing vows

For our 10th anniversary next year my husband and I would like to renew our vows. We want an intimate affair we just our 2 girls and maybe both sets of parents. We live in North Yorkshire but also love the lake district so want to do it in one of those 2 counties. Don't know whether to have the vow renewal on the Thurs (our anniversary) then go away for a long weekend or go away for the week and renew vows while away. Also we don't have a huge budget so want to do it on a shoestring! any ideas anybody? I thought I'd ask all you brides to be who may have some suggestions.

Gretna Green too far to travel? They do renewal of vows ceremonies, and they're very reasonable price wise too.
I think York registry office has to be one of the most beautiful in the country, and thats close by you too - I have no idea though...do they do renewals in a registry office?? I'm a bit thick.
Congratulations on 10 years marriage!! xx0 -
Yes you can have a vow renewal ceremony at any approved venue.0

I renewed my vows at our local parish church on the evening of our 10th wedding anniversary with immediate family there (kids, brothers & parents), then went for a lovely family meal out. That would have been 15 years ago next week.
unfortunately, we only lasted another 5 years before splitting up

Have you looked at The Red Lion at Burnsell. That's where me and hubs got married.
You could also look for some country churches, you know, really small but pretty ones. What about stately homes where you could all stay over for the weekend? You could start the day with a wedding breakfast, have the ceremony and an evening meal.
The other idea is to go for something really quirky.0
