Endowment Miss-Selling

Some years ago I complained to the Financial Ombudsman regarding our miss-sold endowment. His representative responded after consideration and said that the endowment seller wouldn't be likely to compensate us and that they would only offer us a repayment mortgage and at the time we wouldn't have been be any better off and they certainly wouldn't pay any compensation. We were miss-sold because our endowment doesn't mature until I'm past retirement age. The other reason we were mis-sold we couldn't prove because we hadn't anything in writing and the person who sold it to us had left the company so they couldn't ask him but he wouldn't have admitted it anyway. Does anyone know whether we can apply again and gain anything if we try?
