A few Qs

I thought i might be in this position 2 years ago when we were due a cut in our income, but this didnt happen and we continued as we did to be in a position to pay our debts, but now the time has come that we definetly are getting a drop in income, so need a few Qs answered if you can.
Firstly it will be myself only going bankrupt IF thats what CCCS suggests when i contact them (i think they will).
Most of the CC card debt and loans are in my name as some is from before i met my DH, he has a loan and small amount of CC debt but nothing he cant cope with, so at the moment we have an account each and a joint account, the join account is the one whihc all the household bills and loans go out of, should i take my name off this and transfer my loan direct debits to my sole account....will the OR/judge whoever looks at the accounts need to see statements for the joint account once it closed??
Also i have a life insurance policy i took out about 10 years ago when i split from my ex, this has no value other than if i die, will he want that info, will i lose it, as i now have high blood pressure and the fee would prob be a heck of a lot more than it is now.
Also i have and pay for an insurance policy on my ex...which pays out to me should he die, as if he dies then this would cover the loss of maintenance, would he need to see this and query it???
we have a joint named council property which we have just passed our first year so is now a secured tenancy, will it affect this.
I am going to wait to do a SOA until the DLA and carers stops on 14th april, this wont be applied for again and i only get the carers part as its for my stepson and DH deals with that in his name.
Also when they ask on SOAa about rent, do i put the full amount that it should be or the reduced amount we pay as get a small amount of benefit for it, although this also will change once DLA stops, as the tax credits will also change as there is an elemant part to it for having a child with DLA.
I know the inevitable, but am very scared and very confused, up until now we have managed to always pay our bills/debts, but have been using the CC card still for odds and sods, mostly grocerys about once per month, i KNOW once the finances drop the CC card will be used more, and i want to get out of the trap sooner rather than later.
So any info most gratefully received

Listen I can't give you advice - but please don't be frightened, you have used that money to survive - you've not gone out to buy yourself a plasma tv or luxury goods.
This is a really good supportive board - you have come to the right place for help.
You have done your best with everything, don't beat yourself up and I know how difficult it is not to worry but please for your own health try not to get worked up.0 -
Thankyou affluenza, i will try not to worry, just had my BP meds upped as its got higher, so will try.
Another Q is we are a family of 7, whats the monthly food price for a family that size as i tend to do mine every 3-4 days as things get left otherwise and goes off, so i dont really know what i spend and how much i 'should' be spending.
As my DH is on a low wage and gives me a % which will go down when the DLA stops should i put down i get a % then do all the outgoing as one whole, rather than split everything??
Is there a SOA i can see on here to see what i have to put down, and also are the forms really long???
Also, how do i find out which court would deal with me, is there somewere to put postcode in to find out as it could possibly be one or 2 places, thanks0 -
just bumping this up as not sure if there were anyone who could answer my queries yesterday.
Thanks0 -
Hi bcljnk.
Sorry I can't help with most of your questions. I will have a go at some for you though.
If you have two County Courts near you, I think you could go for either. I would ring one or both to find out if they will process a BR application for you.
Do the DH's contribution as a percentage and the outgoings as a whole.
I don't know about the Insolvency Service application forms - but you can register for those here:
https://www.insolvencydirect.gov.uk/isolv/
You can get some practice with another online SOA calculator that you can find here:
http://www.makesenseofcards.co.uk/soacalc.html
It's a good idea to do this one and post the result up here for people to check the amounts for you. Click the MSE button towards the bottom of the page once you have filled it out and follow the instructions to post the results up here.
I may be wrong but your BR should not affect your tenancy if it is not a private one.
Hope this helps.BSC No 248
