DD's birthday at Pizza Hut

i have agreed to take my DD and a few of her friends (well, classmates really, hoping this will encourage her to try to establish friendships!) to Pizza Hut for her birthday this weekend.
There will be max 10 kids, and 2-3 adults. I have been studying the pizza hut menu, trying to figure out the cheapest way of feeding everyone!
So far i have got
option 1 - buy 2-3 large pizzas, and let people pick and mix. Buy individual
drinks and deserts (not really bothered about starters)
option 2 - go for the sharing menu (though not really sure what this
actually consists of -eg. tasting platter?) and also how
many of these i would need. Individual drinks and deserts.
option 3 - as above, but pay the £4 extra for shared desert (if anyone
could clarify what that is that would help
)
option 4 - which i think has now been discounted, on account that
there may not be enough food each (very hungry girls lol)
get a child's meal each.
any tips would be great (as would any possible vouchers info to keep costs down!)

How old is your DD? Might give us an idea as to whether option 4 would be a go-er? I tend to find Pizza Hut quite 'stodgy' (in a good way!) so they may be more full than you imagine. I'm not sure what the childs meals cost but could you get an extra starter or something if they are a bit small? There is no such thing as a free lunch. Its only free because you've paid for it.
Noone can have everything they want and the sooner you learn that the better.
MSE Aim: To have more "thanks" than "posts"! :T0 -
The tasting platter consists of any three single starters. The choices are wedges, chicken wings, 3chicken strips, 2slices of garlic bread/garlic bread with cheese, garlic ciabatta or mozzarella and tomato salad.
The deal is good if you are picking pizza with lots of toppings, however given that there are children you might want to just go for plain pizzas.
The meal deal for 4 is called "or more" it consists of a tasting platter, one large pizza, one medium pizza and a trip to the salad bar.
If buyin meal deals you cannot use any vouchers
If you go for the seperate pizzas and drinks option, there is a £10off wys £30 for pizza hut from their website i think. Or https://www.pizzahutoffers.co.uk. Only one voucher per booking though.
The sharing dessert is either hot cookie dough dessert with ice cream, or a portion of 14 profiteroles served with pouring cream.
Hope this helps, anymore questions feel free to ask.0 -
Ah sorry, the £10 offer has now expired.0

Im going back years here but they used to do a childrens party menu and trim the table up for you at little cost
Im sure when my newphew had one it was about 4 pounds per child inclding ice cream for afters
Have you tried phoning the local pizza hut and asking?Mad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
Aiming to loose 56 pounds this year. Total to date 44.5 pounds 12.5 to go. Slimming World Rocks!0 -
We just did this at Pizza Hut for my daughters birthday last wed!
She had 6 friends and there were 3 adults eating, came to £41 and then had a £10 voucher.. so was chuffed at £31!
The kids meal deal was quite good at £3.99 I recall... they also had a £4 offer of Garlic bread, Individual pizza and a drink ! If 2 had it, it was £7.49 and if 3 had it, it was even cheaper again....
The kids mixed and matched ...
Ask them for balloons on your table when you arrive too !!Debt Free Jan 2010!(Be happy) the state of your life is nothing more than the state of your mind! X:j0 -
thanks guys, guess if forgot to say how old DD is - she is 12 (i feel so old!)
she has decided on plain pizzas, margherita (sp
) ham + mushroom and ham + pineapple. I was thinking three large, but may go for 1 meal deal where i get one large and one medium, then get an extra one on top. How much pizza can 10 kids get through lol!
I think they are pretty much set on ice cream for desert.
I now wonder if it is possible to get them each a childs meal, with an extra pizza to share? Its just i know they are not fussed on starters, and as for salad - not a chance lol!
As you can see, i hate making decisions lol!
also to add - i have booked the table, and they are putting balloons out! I am a nervous wreck, but luckily, my carer is coming with me (bless her - she is on maternity leave at the mo!)
I am budgeting for no more £70. Does that sound doable?
Many thanks for all you advice!0 -
Id stick with large pizzas then.
Large margerita - 8.99 i think, large hawaiin 9.99, large ham/mushroom - 9.99.
10 kids drinks (age 12&under) £1.49 each - £15.00
10kids ice cream - £1.49 each - £15.00
Drinks and ice cream are unlimited. 3 large pizzas will give you 24 slices. Alternatively, if you ask your server nicely they may cut the pizzas into 10 slices each to give you 30slices=3 per child, just to make it easier.0 -
well, just thought i would post an update!
we went, girls all had a child's meal each, with desert, and then cake. Just as well i didnt order the extra pizzas, as i dont think they would have stopped talking long enough to eat them!!!:D
i came in well under budget, and that was even with getting DD2 a little meal and friend and I a sharing meal. :j
many thanks to those who took the time to reply to my original post, as i was well stressed trying to sort it all out!! :beer:0
