Carry On Luggage- What can you take??

Options
Hey, I'm hopefully flying to Liverpool/Manchester in the next few weeks and I'm trying to get away without putting luggage in the hold, I know about the liquids in carry on, but does anyone know anything about powder?

I would be taking makeup with me which would be in powder form and really dont want it taken off me, if that would be the case it would be cheaper to put a bag in the hold!

I've checked a few web sites and can only find liquids mentioned.

Any one have any experiance??

Thanks

  • as long as the makeup is in a clear plastic bag then no worries...i had all my makeup and the kids medicine in a clear bag and took it on to the plane . once you are through the passport/security area you are able to put the things back in your bag. no worries. Have a nice trip...

  • also meant to say that supply your own clear bag as the ones at the airport, depending where you are flying from...charge you.....

I always take my mineral powder cosmetics and they ALWAYS swab it. I think they think its drugs:rotfl:

If flying aldergrove thay can be a bit OTT through security with the one bag situation and make you put your hand bag inside your luggage just to clear security - then you can take it out again:confused:

I have a plastic bag from superdrugs thats the right size for security - comes with all the small containers for your liquids. I just carry that in my hand and leave my cosmetic bag in my handbag till through security. If you buy anything in the shops thats a liquid - that also has to go in the one plast bag ( if they are being jobsworths that day:eek: )

Don't think aerosols are allowed at all. Asthma inhalers would be an obvious exception.
