Can't log on

Hope you can help. My daughter has started to use my laptop so I set up two user profiles with a password for mine but now I can't log onto my user profile. When i put my password in it says" the user profile service failed this logon . User profile cannot be loaded" Any ideas. I put in a wrong password to see what it does and it tells me its the wrong one and try again. I have windows vista home premium
