Belfast zoo elephant angel...do you know her!

Options
Thought this was a lovely story about an un-known lady who took a baby elephant from the zoo during the war and cared for it in her back yard........lots of other animals had to be killed incase they escaped.
The zoo is running a publicity drive to trace the lady's family to thank them have a look incase you know her or about her!

I also thought this story was fascinating. It wouldn't be long for the council to be called if someone showed the same compassion towards similar animals today. Hek, there'd be animal welfare, human rights groups complaining left right and centre. A true sign of the times.

Very true, mind you who would want a elephant in their back garden? Alot of dung would be needing cleaned up :rotfl:
