crossford car boot sale

Normally starts Easter Sunday and will probably be on on the Monday too (as it's a holiday).
Never done it for years but £10 sounds about right.0 -
I drove past and there is a sign that it opens in April but didn't catch which date. They ususally place small ads in the local papers. Think £10.00 is right.0

This car boot sale opened last sunday, I was at it. Theres one right up in Lanark as well at the livestock market on the A72 road I think. I've never been to that particular one, but I might try it this week if it is raining. £10 charge still at crossford, the other one is £12. HTH.0

Was told by a keen booter that the one at Lanark Market is not as busy.0

Yes the one at Lanark is very quite but it is underdoors.Prob best to have a look at it first before you decide.Im really suprised it is dearer because it is very small and would think they would want to encourage custom. There was also a lot of traders there last year rather than car booters.
The crossford one is on from easter sunday till october weekend. It is also on bank holiday mondays.
It is the most poluar in this area and busy. However it is badily organised and the parking is a nightmare- sometimes puts me off. You also need to go early in the morning between 6-7 am if you are intending to sell and they have a tendancy to cram you in.
People arent willing to pay a lot for items so I wouldnt take anything expensive or that you want a lot for- also clothing doesnt sell that good. The average price people will pay is from 50p to £2 for items, as a lotof people return with a lot of stuff as they are not aware of this.0 -

dont leave anything lieing around behind you as folk gather like vultures when they see you packing up,rather than pay you £1 for something they wait to see if you just leave it. sorry its all going home, i would rather give it away to a charity rather than leave it here for these tight gits....work permit granted!0 -
I did a carboot at Blochairn last year and took everything leftover from my pitch home, no way I was giving it away.It seems very expensive there for a pitch now and you need to get there about midnight to get an outdoor pitch!! I want to do another one but do not fancy Blochairn. I've been to the one at Polmadie for a look but to be honest they all seemed like traders and it did seem incredibly dodgy, someone had already had their purse swiped that morning. The only thing in its favour is its undercover but its quite small.
Crossford or Lanark? Which is best?0 -
have done both lanark and crossford, had success at crossford, but people definately dont want to pay much money for things, plenty of people though so better chance of selling, lanark is very small and fewer people, also people started packing up around 1 o'clock, didnt like the experience at all.0
