Crafty 6th Birthday Party

Hiya
I'm doing a birthday party at ours on Sunday for my DS who'll be 6this weekend, with his school firends
I was hoping to have them as creative as I can get them to be, with things like putting the toppings on their own pitta bread pizza halves, and decorating their own fariy cake to take home instead of a slice of birthday cake.
I'm gettign a bit stuck for a few 'games' ideas thought...
I was thinking of getting them to decorate a box or cone of some sort to keep their fairy cakes 'unsquashed' on the way home, but does anyone know of an easy and cheap to make template or idea for a fariy cake box/cone?
Also, a collegue suggested getting them to do some colouring in - I'm not sure if it would work.. getting them all to sit still for that longlong - has anyone managed to do this at a party, and any ideas on how to make it more 'funky' for them?
We'll be playing a little treasure map type game, plus some musical statues, but have thoroughly run out of inspriation now, lol
Any ideas greatfully recieved
Thanks

How about getting some fimo for them to model with. You bake it for about 30 mins and it is then hard. I made simple bees last weel rolling a small ball of yellow, then put 2 THIN "sausages" in black around the yellow and roll in hands this blends the 2 surfaces together.. I used the smallest of black balls to press in for eyes and finished it with a circle of white pressed in the middle to create the wings. I also pressed a brass eye into it, type you can screw into wood and fastened a key ring clip to fasten on zipper. The link below is similar to mine but can't find the image I liked.

I had some children round for a little Xmas party the day before Xmas Eve and hid chocolate coins all over the house and the children went searching for them with paper cups to pop their loot in. The children loved it. We also decorated foam Xmas trees - I got a pack of foam Xmas tree shapes from Hobbycraft and left out some paper, glitter glue and pens to decorate the trees. Do you have a party theme - could find colouring pages on the internet for the children to decorate or I know Hobbycraft has Easter themed foam shapes in at the moment.
How about pin the tail on the donkey?
Sorry can't think of anything else at the moment
Hope you have a great party

Hiya
Hmm... I'll have a look a the Fimo idea thanks
The coins idea might be good, but I'm honest I'm going to try and restict them to downstairs only and if I hide the coins donwstairs the dog would snaffle them
I'm trying to do a Sponge Bob theme (though for the life of me I can't find any Sponge Bob party bags that aren't the see through cellophane ones?
Maybe I could print off some different Sponge Bob colouring pages...
I was hoping to be able to do the kind of party where they can take home bits they'd made
Does Fimo stick to clothes? I've never used it before... I've already put on the invite not to wear their best party wear as tehy'll be decorating their pizza and fairy cake and would feel awful if they got stained in tomatoe puree! But I'm not sure how 'stuck to' I'd be able to push it :rotfl:April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
What about buying some paper plates and getting them to decorate it with crayons and make it into a mask, you could cut out the eyes and make a hole for the elastic. It wouldnt cost very much but it would be fun and they could take them home with them.
What about making crowns, you could buy some cheap gold/silver foil, maybe some jems that are about £1.50 is from elc, it would involve sticking but you could use prit stick type glue instead of messy runny glue, again they could take them home with them.
If you have a wilkinsons they have crafts for 50p + you could buy some of these aswell they have hand puppets, bag making for girls.
On the sponge bob theme why not buy some cheap paper bags and using paints and sponges design a spongebob sponge so that they can make there own party bags?
You could make propper pizza bases for next to nothing using the recipe on the yeast box, and they could eat them along with maybe some home made wedges for there lunch/tea.
I hope you have a lovely party whatever you do please remember that they are only young for such a small time and when they get bigger they no longer want partys  so make the most of them after all its only 2+ hours and then you can have a glass of wine to recover.

My sister did a crafts party for my 7 year old neice, I can't remember everything but I know she got lots of cheap teeshirts and fabric paint for them to decorate- i think Wilkos sells tubes of it pretty cheaply.0

Fimo doesn't stick to clothes, tip use the pale colour first as the colour stays a "little" on your hands. We used white banquetting roll at my grandsons party and everyone had crayons to decorate their area with. Check out cheap shops for fabric paint usually about £1 for 8 colours. Primark t/shirts are fine for this. Another fun idea is decorating a cup/bowl? I use Ikea crockery as it is so cheap then Pebeo 150 paints. After drying for 24hrs, touch dries quickly, you bake in the oven and then it is even dishwasher proof. The brushes are just washed out with water.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0
