Credit Card Debt

Hi,
I am currently at the start of owning up and sorting out my credit card debts. I did see a template on here where you can contact the companies and offer a token payment and ask them to freeze interest etc. There is a template on National Debtline but it does not offer a token payment, maybe I have to contact the CC's and own up first, then send a financial statement with token payment. Can anyone advise me please as to the first steps of telling the CC you are unable to make minimum payments.
Many Thanks

Hi
before you do that it might be a good idea to post an SOA on here, so we can see the scale of the problem, and whether a bit of switching might make things better.
Also, do you have PPI on any of these debts? And any charges for late payment etc that you could reclaim? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
First things first try the debt remedy on CCCS website http://www.cccs.co.uk/ or contact one of the other free debt services. See what their recomendation is. They can then help with letters ect.
If you are going to do it by yourself. Write a letter offering payment and enclose a SOA. They are likley to ignore you at first but be persistant."You are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts" - Arthur Schlesinger
