Dh got the computer mid Feb, it's an Acer. I installed a Belkin network thingy, which was fine, and the printer, also fine.
At the weekend, he popped DD1's memory stick in, it didn't behave as usual, so he finished what he was doing with it, and safely removed.
When he turned the PC on the following day he saw lots of numbers, and then the message asking him if he'd like to repair. He agreed, and now that two installed items won't work.
I've tried system restore on a date prior to his repair, to no avail, I've uninstalled and reinstalled, but it doesn't want to know.
Any ideas? I'm afraid the above really is the extent of my knowledge.

I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

You need to give more info.
What OS are you running?
What happens when you boot up-what is the sequence, what error messages are you getting?
What are the two installed items (that) won't work?
What have you uninstalled and reinstalled? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Sounds like a hard disk problem/corruption with the transfer of data. Need more information as requested above0

Open the computer up, and reseat the existing memory - ie: take it out, and put it back in again. Make sure all the cables are plugged in properly, and the cards too - just give them a little firm push, to make sure they're in properly.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0
