    The advertised rate means nothing. It isn't until you apply that you will find out what rate you have been accepted at.

    I think you will be lucky to beat your current rate of 9.9% though (I assume the £10k you are looking for is to pay off the existing one for a better rate).

    Some sites have deals with the banks, so offering a lower rate. Moneysupermarket seems to link to the 8% deal.

    As stated above, the rates are only typical. You may well not get their advertised rate.

    Could try yourpersonalloan for 7.8% APR typical if you are a homeowner (though the loan is actually unsecured).

    applied for the 8% loan with A&L too, when the documents came through they had changed it to 14.9% instead, looks like ill be going with Tesco Finance now as they have offered me 8.2% :)
