Joe_Bloggs - I am sure you have checked by now but yes the speadsheet works fine in Open Office. All microsoft documents (.xls .doc etc) will run in OpenOffice but Microsoft Excel will not run Open Office ( .ods) documents .

It works a treat with OpenOffice2 Calc. It had some frame error when I tried it nearly a month ago. Very impressive. Thanks to the author youreds and for Gem_ for pointing out it actually works.

This Excel sheet is good for fixed rate mortgage, ...as rate changes quite often...I think a option to change interset rate every month would be great help...All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy.0

It was never intended to be an accurate guide, but just to compare the two types of mortgage. As for changing rates, remember that your savings rate will also change roughly in line with mortgage interest rates, both moving with BOE base rates.
