Hi everyone,
Sorry I didn't post back yesterday, I didn't have a chance to get on the pc .
I think it went ok, it was quite informal and it was a behavioral interview? (had never heard of it until yesterday) but basically one asked me questions and one wrote down what I said and there were no right and wrong answers. I was so nervous when I went it but they made me feel at ease straight away, there were two questions my mind went blank on, but they explained what it meant and I was able to answer.
I will find out on Friday by 5pm, if they call I've been successful and if they don't I haven't. So fingers crossed. At least now I've got my first interview over and it really wasn't that bad lol
I was supposed to give them a work trial leaflet but completely forgot as it was in my notes book I took along and didn't need.
Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who helped
Thanks again,
Michelle x0 -

Sorry you didn't get it michellen. Chin up, as you say, better luck next time.
Are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation? :cool:0 -
Bit late now, as I am still exploring the many boards on MSE, didn't even know this one existed until now. Anyway, to coin a well worn phrase 'better luck next time'. Though it's a pity I never found this board before because I used to know an area manager for Oxfam. I could have got in touch for example. I know your's was with Scope but just wanted to mention it. I also got tempted to apply for the assistant managers role at the shop concerned I volunteered at but I never had the confidence to. Anyway, I know it's hard jobhunting trust me on that and keep going at it.Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

What a disgraceful attitude they have, what's wrong with them calling you and treating you with a little bit of respect & curtsy, why couldn't they spare you 5 mins and explain what area's you were weak on within the interview?michellen34 wrote: »I will find out on Friday by 5pm, if they call I've been successful and if they don't I haven't
This would have enabled you to work on those areas for any future interview no matter who it is with.
I remember now why I never give to charity.
Good luck to you Michelle.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -
Interesting. I never give to charity full stop. Why? Because a good proportion of it hardly reaches the target in the end. That's also why (not my words BTW) people are less inclined to buy from places like Oxfam, and their range of handcrafted wooden toys in the shops they sold because people automatically assume 'slave labour' and 'exploitation' because it was made in the villages the money is raised for. However, I was also told by the manager (a very well experienced man who ran a US company for a few decades) the reason why there can be this attitude within charity shops. Though I will not repeat it here as I don't want to put anyone off. But it was said, regardless. Suffice to say it did make me think more on the nature of voluntary work and who gets chosen; demographically speaking, of course.
Edit - Oh forgive my rudeness, I never saw you there 10past6! Too busy looking over my shoulder. Nah, my imagination I expect. Feels like I know you for example from somewhere. Something about 'cases' and getting 'on them'. Anyway, nice to meet you over here. Funny how we bumped into each other early this morning wasn't it.

I would phone up and ask for feedback on your interview. That way you will know what you did well and can find out what you can improve for next time.DFBXmas2015 #5 £4405.82/£4405.82 (100%) :j

Thanks for the advice everyone and yeah I wish they had rang and told me what I could improve on. I didn't know you could ring and ask for feedback on the interview, I will definitely do that tomorrow. Applied for another two jobs today so fingers crossed again lol,
Thanks again everyone x0
