Loan/finance problem

Hiya people I'm new to this board so please excuse me if I am posting in the wrong place.

Basically I was looking for some advice on the following..

I am looking to get a loan or finance so I can buy a new bike for the summer but after a few loan rejections, I decided to go to experian and do a credit check. It turns out I have a default against me for 27pound from about a year ago and because of personal problems and moving house etc, this went by the by but anyway it is now paid but it still shows against my name? is it not possible to get this removed in any way? My credit score is 843 out of 999 and my credit level shows average, so i can only assume it is this poxy 27pound default stopping me getting any credit at the moment.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I think it's there for six years. Why not try contacting the company who you owed to see if they might remove it. Explain that you were moving house etc and the fact you paid it the minute you found out about it. You never know they might remove it for you.
  • Some lenders will be worried that you might have other personal problems and again change your address and so they will be reluctant to lend to you.

Try what i said you never know you might have some luck. Also i think you can leave a note on your file explaining the reason behind the default. If it was caused by a genuine mistake a note explaining might work in your favor if a lender was to read it.
