Silly Question

Hi Who ever is in charge, would it not be handy to have a tr=hread on here where we could put our services to help brides to be? as long as they are with in the MSE ethos? the reason I ask is I tried to post something yesterday about Hairdressing cost as I am getting married and I cannot believe the prices that are charged I as a hairdresser would not charge some of these prices.
It would help every lady getting married maybe we could give possitive or negative coments when we have used the person/s, it is not to advertise as such but if this site is all about saving money would this not be a good idea?
Sorry if I am out of line but it just seems to me a good idea
Keep up the good work

hi sandee unfortunately that would not be allowed. Although you may have good intentions other people will take advantage!
You arent allowed to make offers for personal gain which is what yours is, and even though you have others interests at heart also, its still advertising which goes against everything this site is about.
imagine if we had people offering services and offers on every board that exists here?! It would be like the yellow pages! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
There seems to be a few of us who really want to help brides save money but are not allowed to post (other than replying to a thread) for personal gain. Am going to be cheeky and post my facebook link again. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=41559184311.
Please feel free to advertise or post your services etc here. It's an open group and anyone can join.0 -
 Thanks linda will do xx0

You could try the you and your wedding forum; they technically have the same rules as this site with regards to the kind of thing you'd like to do, but they are SO lax about soliciting / advertising and the users never ever notice it or report iffy posts...
(sorry this is not serious advice, i'm being a bit tongue in cheek, but it is true about YAYW!)0 -

Have just done that lol. I shall personally blame you if I get "told off" )joking lol):beer:0 -
There's also hitched. You do need to get permission to post and need to declare that you are a seller but there are loads on there. They call 'em HIBS."I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0

Don't go advertising your business on Hitched unless you're a fully paid up HIB - they (including me lol) will notice and are say what we think.
