  • IMO the Rathbones bread on a long-standing 2 for £1.20 offer at Morrisons is the best deal of the 'cheap' bread - very similar to Warburtons in taste.

Yup, rathbones is good, thick sliced is really thick, to the point where it burns in my toaster if I am not careful  but at 60p a loaf its great. I buy two and put one in the freezer until its needed. Seems to last quite well as well.

They seem to have changed the packaging and the bread looks different inside.

  • You can get M&S Bread for £1.24, me and my OH we always used to buy branded bread, but we tried the M&S one and its the best we have had and it lasts far longer that other breads (is that good or bad!) and its far softer!!! Not exactly money saving, but its a saving as bread is another product that i will not comprisemise on!!!

  • I have started buying morrisons danish loaf, it's 45p and really light not great for toast though as it burns if you don't keep an eye on the toaster!

I buy tesco value thick bread, freeze it and get out however many slices I need for the next day. Its nice bread and costs 38p a loaf in one tesco and 40p in the other!
