As with other posters be cautious. But I would be honest with present employer and ask them straight up. But don't put a gun to their heads in case they call your bluff.

This perhaps links to my last post - what you mean exactly by the above (underlined)?

Like the other posters be cautious, I was headhunted about this time last year. The package was great, but I was way oversold the role and the company.
Within 3 days I knew I had made a mistake, I hated the new job with a passion, couldn't abide the back biting staff and the Muppet MD, and it took me another 6 months to find another role as I had burnt some bridges in the process of moving.

    This sounds like my story!
I was happy running a company, really enjoyed my job, the only issue for me was the journey, the office was 180 miles away.

Anyway approached by a rival with a better product and offered a bit more money and not so far to travel. It was a really difficult decision to make, I enjoyed the job I had. But I went and again burnt many bridges on the way.

I too felt the wrong decision had been made just a few days in, big company stuff, 6 months in and the bullying has started, now I hate it there and really want to tell them I am off.

If you are OK where you are, stay there. I wish I had.

I am sorry to hear all this. Why is it so difficult to part ways in a friendly way? Perhaps you (and other who posted earlier) did have some underlying problems with their old job/employer/colleagues?
