Just wondering if any one has any suggestions, Also not sure if this is the right board but I was not sure where else to put it.
There has been an odd smell round the flat today and I have just worked out what it is.
My OH did some washing today and i just noticed it is her work trousers. These are only cheap staff uniform things and went it the wash with a load of other stuff but the smell really odd bordering on nasty.
We use nice lenor liquid which smells nice and usually the washing smells really nice. Everything else from the 2 loads washed today smell fine its just these trousers.
So any ideas?

these are not jeans but a wool/poly blend but it could be a reason because they are black.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090

Have they ever been washed before? Sometimes things made of wool can have a really unpleasant 'pong' when damp.0

Yes I think they have but I will try and have a sniff when they are dry and when they get washed againJeremyMarried 9th May 20090

Try putting white vinegar in the conditioner drawer of the washing machine and then hanging the trousers in the fresh air."This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA

I had this problem recently with a cheap pair of black jeans. I jus kept washing them, and the smell just suddenly disappeared.
Using fabric conditioner just made it worse though.0 -
Now they are dry they smell of the washing liquid. So it was just while they were drying.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090
