I'm looking for bars in Glasgow and Edinburgh city centre where we can go to meet single people. I'm thinking about more upmarket places where people in their late 30's or 40's go for a drink after work.
Any advice please?

Most of the bars on George Street in Edinburgh are more "adult", though I would recommend popping into the Cafe Royal if only for the decor0

The Dome on George Street in Edinburgh is lovely, my Mum & Dad really like it, its def worth a look too its amazing inside!0

I had never heard of Cafe Royal before, but the decor seems to be really interesting.
I've been to the Dome once and it sure looks amazing.
I've been told that Tiger Lily on George Street is also worth a try.0 -

I quite like One Up which is situated in Exchange Square in Glasgow - its next door to DiMaggio's.
Seems to attract an older crowd and they sell very reasonable (and good!) food up until 8.00 pm.0 -

I hate Ashton Lane. You can tell a lot about a person if they say that they like it - usually means they equate spending a small fortune on a night out with being sophisticated.0 -

One up is nice. You could also try the Corinthian on Ingram Street or Arta which is just off George Square.0
