I have received a default judgement and I cant afford to pay it

Help!
I have received a default judgement for over £6k for something that I feel the amount owed is unfair, i did fill in all the court forms saying that i disagreed, and that i couldnt afford to make the repayment in one go, but the judgement requests full payment.
This was done at a bulk court, on 16th March i received the judgement friday then yesterday i received something saying that it was being transferred to an alternative court for enforcement. What can i do about this to try to arrange installments, or get it reduced. It was for a car that was bought in my name for the family with my exhusband when he left i couldnt afford the repayments and gave the car back, but have been charged huge amounts even though they sold it for nearly as much as i borrowed.
How do i sort this out, any advice would be gratefully received

Please have a look at this factsheet

Factsheet | Replying to a county court claim form

A judgement 'in default' means that no reply was received from the defendant, so it sounds as if something has gone wrong.

Did you defend the claim, acknowledge it and ask for instalments or do a part acknowledgement? Where did you send your reply? Did you do it within the time limits?

Unless you now have a defence with a reasonable prospect of success, I think you need to apply for a redetermination and request payment by instalments.

If you have a breakdown of how the 6k figure was calculated, we can check the claimant's sums and let you know if we think the amount claimed is challengeable.

1st, what type of debt is it, CC / Loan / O/D?
