Price Reduction/Refund??

Bought a camcorder last weekend, and I noticed in their latest flyer that they have reduced it by £20.

Any chance I'll be able to get the £20 refud back, or is it a case of sods law??

If its not excluded from their 16 day money back guarantee, I would just pack it up and get a refund. Then you will have all your money back to do what ever, else you would have to find a fault with it...freddy

Worth discussing the plan with the store first - they might just offer a refund of the £20 - else carry out the plan as described above :)

  • camcorders are excluded from the 16 day guarantee- if you bought it on credit card then some credit cards offer a reduction guarantee, however it may be from a different shop where you have seen it cheaper.

If it is the case, then i would check availablility of the item and if it was available, then I would ask for a refund stating the item was faulty.

  • like the person b4 me said, if its under the 16 days, you can get a refund and just buy it again. some people are a bit funny about it so you might have to get the refund and then buy it again later, but in the store i work in we will happily refund it and sell it straight back.

most of the time i would even do it if its excluded from the 16 day guarantee because you're just going to buy it again. but again, that really depends on the person serving you - some people are scared they'll get in trouble if they do it.
  • be careful they dont put the price up and come chasing you for extra!! LOL
:D I understand ALOT more than I care to let on :D

Oopps, must have forgotten the name of the website!! :rotfl:

    Thanks for all your replies..

The item is excluded from the 16 day moneyback, however, after my email to HO they said to take it up with the store I bought it from, who may, at their discretion give me £20 back.

    Thanks for the constructive replies.

  • i think that is just a quick brush off- ethically it is probably wrong to go back and say the item is faulty but that is in my experience the only way to get the extra £20 back (assuming you can then pick up another at a lower price!)

Actually its classed as fraud :D
  • and what do you call the fact that argos items that you generally buy as new are other peoples returns.
In the past i have had a video recorder with a video tape still inside the video with tv programs recorded, a toaster full of bread crumbs, and numerous other gifts with packaging quite clearly opened previously then taped down again by Argos staff.
