Ruthbridge Ltd - Letter to the Occupier

Hello,
I have received a letter addressed to 'the occupier' from a company called Ruthbridge Limited, stating 'Urgent, please contact the undersigned immediately'
From a bit of google research I have found out that this company is some kind of debt collection agency.
A friend and I moved into the property 6mths ago, renting from a landlord. She brought the house roughly a year ago. I am under the assuption it was a run down property which needed a lot of work doing to it and we have received red letters addressed to the previous owner.
I'm not really sure what to do with this letter as they seem to be a nasty piece of work and I assume this 'debt' belongs to the previous owner of the house. But are Ruthbridge going to care?
Any ideas what I can do, I'm tempted to just send it to our landlord to deal with

Reported them to the OFT and trading standards.
Sending letters to "the occupier" is against OFT guidelines.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Yes. Absolutely. Return to sender as SC said. And, of course, report them to the OFT but potentially Trading Standards as well. As they will be more local to you and can act where necessary eg if one of these people show up on your doorstep.
The rule here is: it's not your responsiblity so don't make it yours.
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

To be honest its the second letter we've had! The first we just binned as we thought it might have been one of those 'youve won a holiday' cons!
Hmm I binned the envelope so will find another! Thanks!0 -
