Mine has got to be the recipe for malt loaf. It's so incredibly easy and totally versatile (I substitute loads of ingredients but follow the basic idea), with predictably good results if you get the proportions more or less right. If I ever give a slice to anyone they think I am a genius in the kitchen.

Curry Queens indian takeaway curry sauce, takes a long time to make initially, but is very easy, and really does taste like an indian meal from the takeaway!!!! Cooked it last night for friends, and they were amazed!!!!!! Thank you CQ!!!!

Had micro sponge pudding yesterday, made pineapple upside down as my nephew was staying and we all thoroughly enjoyed that. So simple.

Another vote here for Curry Queens recipes - they always come out even better than anything you could buy or get on take away - and she doesnt mind if you take full credit with your guests:D

I second that, closely followed by the slow cooker advice. Then it has to be CQ again for her microwave sponge pudding
