Help Sky Question

I'm moving house soon and I am looking for some advice so I can get the best deal from Sky. I've haven't got Sky+ yet and would hope I get some sort of upgrade when I move. The options I think I have are:

1/. Call Sky and ask them to move it to my new address. Dont know the costs and if I'd get any feebies/upgrades by doing this.

2/. Call Sky and ask to cancel it. When they ask why tell them what's happening and hope to get something from this without getting additional costs.

3/. Call them and cancel and say I don't want sky anymore(technically I don't want it anymore I want Sky+) and leave it at that. Move house and start as a new customer and get any freebies/offers going to them. Do sky cross check old and new customers?

Any advice from the expert money savers out there would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

My husband recently called regards to sky+ and all the offers new customers get in relation to existing customers and he was told it wouldnt matter if we moved house or cancelled our subscription and came back in 12 months time they would still class us as an existing but returning customer and not a new one. Not sure how they would track / trace that info if you move house but hey thats what he was told.

After threatening to leave and buy a free view box and a 25 min phone call, he managed to get sky+ for £65, free installation and no monthy fee, which he thought was a good deal.

    Good luck

WOW - that was a good deal. I tried the same thing a couple of days ago. I want the Sky+ box but not multi room. Best I got was 'we can do you a Sky+ box for £259' :(

I said I was considering switching to Freeview and buying a DVD-R, even after that I got nothing.

Think I might make another call - freephone this time!!
  • Back in December I called Sky as I was moving and went through with it as a cancellation. When asked why I was cancelling I said I was moving and was not prepared to pay to get my existing box wired up in the new house. I also expressed an interest in Sky+ and saw that the offers to new customers were very inticing. They then asked what offer I was refering to which was Sky+ fully installed for £50. She immediately offered me this deal and said that I should take the muliroom option as well because as it would be my existing box I would not be tied to a 12 month deal on the multiroom. I could cancel it immediately and then have the free channels hooked up for free in another room.
I'm a happy bunny and I think Sky+ is the greatest invention of the new millenium so far!!!
