Mortgage Broker

My girlfriend and I are now ready to by our first house. We have saved 10% deposit.

Today see has gone down the high street and booked an appointment with Bristow and Eves mortgage advisor. I have told her its not a good idea to use EA mortgage advisors as they might share information on how much we can afford and thus wreck our changes if negotiating a good deal.

Am I talking rubbish or does this happen?

Thanks

I would use an IFA you trust, and use a mortgage comparison website to see what deals are available.

    Good luck

    It shouldnt happen.
The Estate Agent is Bairstow Eaves and the mortgage consultant is Countrywide.

If you suspect that the mortgage advisor in the office has told the Estate Agent something they shouldnt (like how much you can afford when your trying to get a discount) then report them.

It does happen in estate agent based advisers.

If you are not comfortable with that set up then ask friends or family of they can recommend someone to you - make sure they are whole of market as minimike states
