Mortgage offer credit check

Hello,
I've got a mortgage offer that runs out in June and am very near completing on a house. Do you know if the lender will do another credit check before actually handing over the money?
I ask because I want to take out a credit card with 0% on purchases because it would help us out in the first few months after moving to defer payments on some new house purchases. I don't know if the lender would retract its offer if it could see I was potentially taking on additional debt.
Cheers if you can help!

I've no idea but maybe wait until you get the mortgage money before you get the card? I suppose it depends what purchases you want really though. It's not as if you'll refuse the mortgage offer if you can't get the card. I imagine you want the card in place and ready to use by the moving in date. Isn't there a way you could make do and rough it a bit for several weeks while waiting for the card AFTER you move? Perhaps get some temporary bits on freecycle for your basic needs and gradually replace them? I know it's not for everyone but I've slept on just a mattress and boiled water for a cup of tea on an ancient gas stove while sorting myself out after moves and lived VERY basically. It looked quite comical really as I had a lovely TV set, a nice computer, yet I was sitting on cushions
. Great sense of priorities eh? 0
