It seems I've answered my own question as this one is much better. :T I must have used too much liquid I also cooked it at 170 degrees instead of 180.

I can recommend using the Shreddies but I used 3oz of sugar instead of 4oz as I think Shreddies have a sweeter taste anyway.

I tried the malt loaf yesterday and followed BS's instructions to the letter. It was in the oven at 180 degrees for 1 hour 20 mins ish. When I sliced a bit off it was still raw looking in the middle so I put it back in the oven for another half an hour.

When it came out it was like a brick but still soggy on the inside. Where have I gone wrong

I've got another one in the oven now with a little bit less tea this time, only had 1 weetabix left though so had to make it up with Shreddies :D .

    Finc.

Is it OK with Shreddies? I have some frosted Shreddies that are too sweet to eat (were on offeR) but I don;t want to throw them away.

It's worth a go but I probably wouldn't add any extra sugar as they'll be quite sweet on their own. The one I made with Shreddies was gorgeous and it's now all gone  I only made it this afternoon.

There are a couple of threads filled with banana ideas in the Cooking section of the MEGA index, listed under "Fruit"

    Loads of ideas, honest :)
