been overseas for two years...and not paid debt for 18 months

I'm desperatly after some good advice. I am currently living overseas. Left Uk in June 2007 with around 25,000 (pound) of debt, I continued to pay a minimal payment via cccs for approx 6 months-but then I could not afford to continue. I have not heard from anyone.
I now need to return to the UK for health reasons, and I'm concerned about what to do about the debts. I will be living with my parents initially-so will not be on electrol roll etc. Should I sit tight and hope that they debts don't find me, or do I start to try and find them-its been so long I can't remember which collection agencies I'm suppose to be paying.
My parents do not know about my debt and I'd hate to cause them any distress, I also have two little girls to consider.
I am also in the process of separting from my husband, this debt has built up due to a lack of financial support from him (over the years).
I want to get my own life back on track asap-the easiest and least distressing way.
Any recommendations anyone, please help me I am sooo worried.

Welcome on board!
My inclination would be to contact CCCS - they may still have your details, and will be able to give you advice on how best to proceed. I don't mean to say do that instead of MSE, but as well as using us.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I would recommend you contact citizens advice or nationaldebtline.
I don't know what the status of the debts will be, but they will not yet be statute barred and may possibly have been passed on to another party by now.
You may be able to request copies of the credit agreements to see if the debts are enforcable if/when you are contacted. I would also claim back any charges that have been applied to your accounts too - but only if they contact you. You may need to set up some kind of repayment program with them, even if it's only £1 a month to each if this is all you can afford.
I'd ask for some expert help on this though as debts from overseas can be a bit of a grey area. I think that the statute barred date is also suspended from the time you left so it will be a long time before this is of use. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
