Thanks guys, very useful comments.
I do have to ask though, I know I'm a bit on the weighty side but so many of you have suggested basques, corsets and slimming pants, do I really look that blobby?
I'm not about to take offence! I just want honest answers please
The dress came from ebay. It was advertised in green and gold.0 -

no no, we all love real women.. corsets and basque are good for the boobage uplift.. and also the added bonus of sucking you in a lil..without the 10g's worth of surgery.. and when the day is thru you can simply take it off and hang loose as nature intended
you look awsome in that dress tho:exclamati:female:choose life, choose to save money, choose to search higher and lower, choose martin lewis and rock the F**k on!! \\mm// :female::exclamati0 -

Not at all, you look fab in that dress!
Even skinny girls wear shapewear - because that's what it does, highlights the good bits, and squishes the not quite so good bits (which is most of them in my case).
Your other option rather than buying a purple bra, could be a nude colour one? With the added benefit of being able to wear it under a multitude of outfits, as it blends with your skintone.

I had condsidered nude as opposed to purple. I've got a while yet, the wedding isn't until November.
I might have a try of that Gok Wan corset, but the only thing is that the 'bra' bit is dress sized rather than bra sized and I suspect it won't provide me with the support where I need it...0 -

No,definately not blobby and you dont even look on the weighty side either. You have a good shape.I dont know if the dress is lined but the only reason I suggested the corset rather than a bra, apart from the fact that its gorgeous,is that I think you need another layer under the dress fabric so you cant see the belly button indentation in ther photos.God I hope that wasn,t rude,I didnt intend to be.A corset not to change the shape but just to smooth."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
No, not rude in the slightest but very helpful
I did look at the belly button indent and pull a face...
The skirt is lined, but the rest isn't so you're probably right, something corsety might make the shape better. There's the Gok purple corset on ebay in a 16 right now so I may just bid on it, there's about 5 mins left. I can always sell it on if it doesn't fit correctly.0 -
Fantastic.I am really glad you didnt think I was being rude.I have been worrying about it all day and checked back just now as soon as we got home from visiting our mums to see if you had replied.
Let us all know how the corset feels on.The gok wan purple one is gorgeous,I am thinking about getting one too.I would have to change the pink ribbon though maybe to white or maybe even 2 colours of ribbon intertwoven.I have seen that done on the uptight brides website and its gorgeous."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Just to let you know, I can put you in touch with a very good corset maker should you need one. (and no, it's not me.:D )0

Some  had bid-swiping software on the corset auction, so I missed out
I'll have a hunt around, see if I can find one through Quidco so get some back on it.0 -
If you are still having probs with your undergarment, I can pass you on to a lady who makes historical and modern corsets. Historical may be just the thing considering your gown style.
Let me know. x0
