Corkage fees

I'm not usually on this board but I was having a nosy today!
If you're providing your own wine and paying corkage, make the venue well aware that you want them to keep the corks, so that if there's bottles of wine left over, they're not tempted to help themselves to a couple of bottles!
The bottles left over and the corks they hand back to you should tally up to the number of bottles you provided0 -
Agh! I have been quoted £25 per bottle for corkage!
And she said it to me like it was a 'bargain!', I had no idea what everyone else was paying until I looked on here- I think I will be buying the wine from the venue instead now! The white wine starts at £22 and red at £25 so Im much better off doing it that way I think!!!:j :jTotally and utterly debt free as of 27/05/09!!!:j :j0
