in Cutting tax
Hi all,
Im currently employed as an electrician and have to supply my own hand tools and power tools, now I dont mind buying these as it means I can do my job but what I do mind is not having any kind of tax relief for it.
Is there anything I can do about this?
Paul

You are entitled to a fixed rate expense deduction. Go to www.hmrc.gov.uk and search for fixed rate expenses. There you will find a list of trades of which electician will be one. Then you simply contatc your tax office and ask them to include the allowance in your code number. Probably too late for this tax year, so you will have to claim a refund when you get your P60.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
